The Perfect Man Poem by Laura Anne

The Perfect Man

The perfect man loves me for me and not just one tiny part.
The perfect man isn't afraid to tell me the truth.
The perfect man is kind, sweet, funny, and loving.
The perfect man can make me crumble with one glance.
The perfect man can make me feel unlike I've ever felt before.
The perfect man knows he's perfect, but won't ever admit it.
The perfect man has a smile that lights up a room.
The perfect man will admit when he's wrong.
The perfect man won't admit when he's right.
The perfect man would never say anything that makes me feel like less of a person.
The perfect man has his beliefs, but would never force them on me.
The perfect man won't force me to tell him everything, but he's always there if I want to.
The perfect man will sit with me, when I don't feel like dancing.
The perfect man will know when to take my hand.
The perfect man will know when he loves me, but won't tell me until he's sure he means it.
The perfect man will make me want to be a better person.
The perfect man is mine, he’s you and I hope I can be his perfect woman..

Yea, well that's the perfect man alright. Maybe that's why they're hard for women to find. They're always at sea. Those who know me, know I'm a romantic and believe in perfect things in love. I'm a more harsh critic on poetry however. I always judge pieces like this as prose, not poetry. But I've never believed prose is a bad thing. This is not a bad thing either. It's just not a great thing. When the sentiment is greater than the words the gap between what is, and what could have been, is greater. I would give it a six because there is little creativity here. In the end, that's what gives Art it's distinguishing values. It was, however, worth reading. I'm glad I stopped by, I may come again. Greenwolfe 1962
