The Person I Don'T Want To Be, The Person I Am. Poem by tiera parker

The Person I Don'T Want To Be, The Person I Am.

Getting high just for fun,
Fake smiles thrown at everyone,
Hides myself under a blanket,
Hear the music and crank it.
No longer having feelings of pain,
Uses substances to keep me sane,
Never wanting anyone to know the real me,
In the future is this how I will always be?
Still hiding my problems from everyone,
These mistakes are better off undone.
But its too late to go back,
for confidence and perseverance is what i lack,
If I try to make it right,
I will have to put up a fight.
So for now I’ll leave my problems hidden,
Buried in the ground, to be found is forbidden.
