She is on a holy pilgrimage
To venerate The awakened one
Who unearthed the bliss of letting go
Letting go of what you have
What you yearn....What you own...
Becoming one with all living
disappearing into the world of none
She is on a holy pilgrimage
And she calls home to know
What happened to her deeds
Holding on to petty seeds of greed
What happened to the coconut and the cinnamon trees?
Did they pluck the harvest on time? Did you sell them for a low price?
Did you tend to my home, are my petunias thriving fine?
She is on a holy pilgrimage
To the shrines her lord let go of all the worldly needs
Clutching onto her things and her offspring
Offering things and heedless pleas
Wishing salvage... Wishing passage
on to realms of heaven or to nirvana if merit is ripe
and freedom from worries......for her own breed

Enlightened one showed us, in no uncertain terms, how our lives keep rotating through samsaric ocean incessantly, so long as we do not make a genuine effort to free ourselves from the three basic forces greed, hatred and illusion that keep the engine going. Through various acts like pilgrimages etc we try only to cheat our own conscience while in the face of the world attempting to show something contrary. You have portrayed this beautifully in a poetic format. Thanks for sharing.
