In the name of progress, we forged ahead,
Our aspirations high, our vision was low.
But now we see, with heavy hearts, with dread,
How human hands have doomed our Earth so fast.
Greed, like a wildfire, consumed our souls,
Consumed our forests, rivers, and air.
For riches and power, we the poor have paid the toll,
Aware of the burden we would latter bear.
We plundered nature's treasures without any thought,
Extracted, exploited, left scars behind.
Unchecked consumption, a battle we unfought,
Blinded by desires, deaf to nature's own mind.
In our pursuit of comfort and delight,
We ignored the signs, the planet's silent plea.
The consequences loomed, yet out of sight,
Till it was too late to set a course that was right.
Now we stand, witnesses to our own crime,
With time so short, we seek redemption in kind.
To heal the wounds, we must change our nature,
And nurture Earth's rebirth, a legacy for our children.
Let's halt our path of ruin, mend the Earth,
With love and wisdom, chart a different path.
For this is our home, of infinite worth,
To safeguard and protect, day after day.
