The Poem That No One Reads
a poem is written on the subway wall
and no one notices it
the man right there is reading a newspaper
the woman sitting over there is watching her bag
the student in uniform is sleepy
and the old woman with a paper bag looks over the window
at the station the cleaner of the train
complains
'vandals are everywhere! '
and so the poem about
lost people is forever gone.
