The Poet's Vademecum Poem by Richard Minne

The Poet's Vademecum

Act more stupid than you are,
but watch for snares that trip you;
both time and space ignore
but bustle just like hens do.

Work without plan or measure,
But peep through every curtain;
Despise the solid burgher,
But drink deep of his flagon.
