The Poetry Bore Poem by Martin Knebel

The Poetry Bore

He started writing poetry rather later on in his life,
It was not greatly appreciated except by his loyal wife.
In fact he became a poetry bore
And some visitors were known to snore
Or cast a glance towards the clock
Hoping he might get poetry block
But keenly he gave more and more
While those less keen crept out the door.
