The Poetry Of D.H.Lawrence: A Tribute To Him Poem by Bijay Kant Dubey

The Poetry Of D.H.Lawrence: A Tribute To Him

Lawrence as a poet is but a mystic
Famed for religious mysticism
Inducted into the body corpus
Of poetry,
A poet of the dark journey of oblivion,
Shadowy presence,
The ships sailing not with the cargoes
On board,
But souls and spirits boarded
Plunging into the dark waters
Of the ocean
Going to an unknown destination

A poet casual and eventual,
He has taken to poetry
Casually, nay seriously
And his poetry appear as verses
In loose sheets,
Scribbled offhandedly
As loose overflows from his
Poetic pen
And he channeled
All his poetical energies
In writing lucid prose and fiction
To make it poetical.

A poet of the birds, beasts and flowers,
He is of the elephant, the kangaroo,
Of the flowers of fancy,
He is of the geranium, the pansy, the iris,
Of the reptiles
The tortoise, the snake, the snail,
He is moody, circumstantial, sketchy,
Sensitive and sentimental,
Cosmic and pious
Dwelling far,
A poet imagistic and scenic
Writing the poetry of pietistic heart
And purity, purging it all.
