The Power Of Love Poem by Linda Barnes

The Power Of Love

I wonder why you did it
Should I have known
What demons existed
Such power in its song

My tears flow often
Remembering our time
Sound of laughter
Covered by a frown

How deep was sorrow
Never to be seen
Ordinary cries hidden
Embellished and obscene

Time comes and goes
Your presence stays near
A whisper in the wind
The solace of the sea

What you left behind
Turned anguish into loss
Anxiety of helplessness
The Power of Love
