The Praying Dog
O! my friend,
You kneel on the way side.
Your dog kneels also
in devout prayer.
Does the dog know what is prayer?
He kneels because he knows
that his master is in union with God.
(I almost cried when i saw this picture)
Are there holy rays of prayer
going out of your bowed head
which the dog understands?
Love, devotion
prayer and faithfulness
go together.
The deepest longing
in you is love and prayer.
Affection towards human beings
and all that is in nature
and the love of God
go together.
Is it not a wonder
how prayer works?

So many thoughts have been there along with love, prayer and devotion....we can see that how the dogs are obedient for their master...such kind of behaviour can hardly be found in humans to be such faithful with their masters
I agree what the Poet stated in the third stanza that love, devotion, prayer and faithfulness go together. A marvelous poem wonderfully written.
Sometimes our beloved pets can understand our innermost feelings. The long period of time within which a human and their respective pets stayed together could establish a bond so strong that they could follow and sense what we want to do following what we usually do.
