Living life is a process
I like to think of it as a book
Living through all the nonsense
It's not as easy as it looks
Going through all the chapters
A new one each day
Looking at the sorrow and laughter
you may think it's coming your way
But you don't know the half of it
You don't know what's coming next
Even if your Catholic
You won't pass all the tests
Struggling and striving just to be you
Trying to stand out
But we all are humans too
Going down different routes
That next chapter we all want
That next chapter we crave
The tendrils of love that can haunt
A lonely woman for days
Others don't know what I've been through
But they all still judge
They think I could brush it off, too
Like an itty bitty smudge
You might think there's no peace
But it's all around you
Smile and accept it at least
And then you'll know what to do
Life is as short as a butterfly
And yet it is so beautiful
I don't want to hear you utter a cry
Because life isn't delusional
Change the way you live your life
Look at it from a different perspective
The young may not always be wise
But it is always selective
I told you once and I'm telling you now
Life is a process
And we may not always know now
But it's a working progress
