How very foolish one can be
To disregard life's decency
Stealing... cheating along the way
With drunken violence day by day.
Forgiven not, he serves his 'time'
Repenting for each hideous crime
With many hours to meditate
The past he must obliterate.
Years slip by, and he is free
To walk life's highway honestly
But he alone must face his plight
As survival is one up-hill fight.
No friend can ease his troubled mind
To his concerns they are slightly blind.
So, it's crime again! That's for sure!
A ruined man who broke the law.
Now he must face more wasted years
And return to a life, full of tears.
His only hope is for God's kind hand
To guide him to The Promised Land'.
