The Pseudo-Man Poem by DEEPAK KUMAR PATTANAYAK

The Pseudo-Man

A story of a man;
Like morn and noon,
A reality to every man,
Under the strains of time,
He is losing his sheen,
Becoming old, cold and sluggish,
Though retiring from job
He wishes but not soon,
So his planning begins,
Energy once grown dim,
Beginning to be
Aflame with dreams,
Decided to be corrupt
To every pie he sees,
To stifle in him the conscience,
One fine morning,
On fields of prospect,
He was nabbed with sin,
And as preplanned,
He sought the help of a friend,
None could ever imagine,
In Death-God’s lap,
He wished to slumber deep,
Left a deep sigh,
And a look so dry,
Full of woes and agonies,
Looked like end of life’s journey,
That no man could feign
Death like him and scene ever seen,
Doctor declared him dead,
And said he has already gone to heaven,
It was a lie and the truth was slain,
As Doctor was bribed to work with his plan,
Last rites performed and how possible
That was, to the imposter best known,
After a decade, Intelligence(police) nabbed him again
In his home, alive and sleeping alone,
And his wife singing song,
The meaning of which to him best known,
This is a true story.
Though a decade has already gone.......
