The Racist Dog Poem by Iman Sadikeen

The Racist Dog

Baring your canines
You stare at me
Smelling the fear
Emanating from me
Your nostrils flared
you bark incessantly.
On your heels
Ready to chase
the terrified me.
So you want a piece of me?
Oh but why so fierce,
On me, an innocent being.
Simply crossing your side
No harm I mean
My black garb rouses
Your fury 'they' say.
So much hate?
For what reason I ask?
