The Rain Poem by Mimi Sunshine

The Rain

It has been raining and raining
I go out to leave my footprints
Behold the footprints of my love
All footprints are not alike
I go out to leave my footprints
And find the footprints of my love
He loves me but I know not
I go to see him then I meet another girl
I can't go on,
I can't go back
I feel depressed knowing not what to do
I burst into tears.
He comes again
Asking for forgiveness
Don't pretend you haven't forgotten me
For the twang of pain that struck me
Still linger in the air!
The bad pain and stress that flowed
From my soft compassionate heart
Can't be dried by even the tropical heat
He can't be forgotten so soon
With my heart full of love for him
I bent low to whisper I was sorry
Most times bereaved and abandoned
In smoky places in tunes of frustration and loneliness
Tell me, my God
What holds back the rain
To wash away my tears.
The train (sorrow) carries everybody everywhere
It carries men, boys, women, girls and also me,
Wherever it carries me I meet courage
Crack a glass and the crack will always remain
My heart has the same vein,
It's just as delicate to the strain.
Once it's hurt,
It's too hard to fade the stain and pain
Though parts can fix together
You've just got to touch the wound
To make it drain again.
