The Rest Of Our Lives Poem by Hopeless Heart

The rest of our lives
We can live purely in lies,
Or we can seek out the truth
Search forever until we find proof,

Take no ones word for it
Don’t believe their words unless they fit
Never take second best
Because this is your one and only quest,

Or you can sit back and take
Every word they try and fake
Listen as they brainwash your mind
So you’ll no longer be one of a kind,

You can be ignorant and naïve
Every word they say you can believe,
Or you can be independent and free
Find your own answers over the seas,

So go out there and find your proof,
Before your time is gone and so is your youth,
Find the answers you need
Because you never know where they’ll lead.
