The Restoration Of The Lds Church Poem by Shelley Wynona Williams

The Restoration Of The Lds Church

The Savior directed and organized
the true church upon the earth,
through the Prophet Joseph Smith
it was a blessing of great worth.

Jesus ordained Joseph Smith
and guided him in many ways,
a marvelous work and a wonder
to save those in these latter-days.

For years people lived in darkness
and were interested in God's light,
they wanted to know the truth
about God and all that's right.

Joseph went alone into the woods
to pray about what he should do,
as a young boy he wanted to know
which of all churches was true.

Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ
appeared to him right there,
the true church wasn't on the earth
at the time of Joseph's prayer.

Joseph was chosen to help restore
the gospel of Jesus that day,
it would be restored in its fullness
and the church on earth would stay.

The gospel principles and ordinances
were restored for all mankind,
faith in the Lord Jesus Christ
and repentance one could find.

Baptism by immersion, the gift of the
Holy Ghost by laying on of hands,
today the words of the gospel
are spread throughout all lands.

Precious truths returned to the world
for the church had been restored,
through Joseph Smith, first Prophet
and the blessings of the lord.
