My life, is a river,
In places it’s majestic and beautiful,
Like the glitter of the sun,
On its calm cool waves.
My life, is a river,
In places it’s dark and deceiving,
Hiding the rocks and hard places,
That lurks below.
My life, is a river,
Always looking for that,
Fast safe rapid, to glide down and not worry.
My life, is a river,
Some day’s you’ll capsize,
And fall to the depths below,
Only to rise again cold and worried.
My life, is a river,
Always twisting and turning,
Away from the rock barren shores,
Or from the sharp bends in the path.
Everything moves so fast on the river,
I’m always unsure where the next turn will take me,
Be it home or even further away, from where I want to be.
