The Room Inside My Mind Poem by Jessica Jemima

The Room Inside My Mind

Clear the cobwebs, dust the floors
Make it vibrant and bright like yours
Decorate and fill with colour
Pretty pictures? Add another
Youth and innocence we need
Happiness: I'll follow your lead
Open a window facing the sun
And let in ev'rything that's joyous and fun

This new room is occupied forever at last
With nothing to regurgitate the unpleasant past
It won't be a mess like the last emptied place
A palace in shambles, a wretched disgrace

Nay, this room is stable, secure and good
I know it will last like we all know it should
For I've cleaned out the cobwebs and dusted the floor,
Like you I'm prepared for whatever's in store!
