The Royal Pardon! Poem by Denis Martindale

The Royal Pardon!

How can it be that grace abounds, and far exceeding sin,
Such that God's love each day surrounds our sinful souls to win?
And through the Holy Blood of Christ, no greater love to see,
To find the Saviour sacrificed, right there on Calvary.
The place where John and Mary mourned beneath the Cross of Christ,
The place where scoffers merely scorned, God's grace not realised.

To think Christ prayed forgiveness still, compassion good as gold,
To think God's Son obeyed God's will, the greatest story ever told.
The Royal Pardon thus was gained that God bestows on Man,
Through Blood that from the Saviour drained according to God's plan.
Behold the Lamb of God and pray, that grace continues on,
Before we, too, must pass away, and even we are gone...
