The Seeker Poem by Evelyn Macdonald

The Seeker

Rating: 5.0

I've roamed this wide world over
I've sailed the seven seas
had tea in Indonesia
and fished in Tennessee.

I've climbed the Wall of China
I've dined in Katmandu
I've rafted down the Amazon
and chased the kangaroo.

I've tracked the Himalayas
I've walked in Galilee
I've seen the Seven Wonders
and bathed in the Red Sea.

I've felt the chill of Europe
and the heat of Old Bombay
flown o'er the mighty Rockies
traversed the Milky Way

I've crossed the barren tundra
I've thirsted on desert sand
I've done my share of travelling
throughout this wondrous land.

I've marvelled at the majesty
of Russia, Greece and Rome
But nothing gives me greater joy
than when I'm travelling home.

So what is it Man searches for
as he travels through this land
Life in its exotica
is much more close at hand.

Peace, Contentment, Happiness!
who could ask for more
then travellers look no further
than your own back door.

A very nicely crafted poem, with a familar but true theme. As Dorothy said: 'There's no place like home' Thanks.
