The Smoke Poem by Brandon Mackey

The Smoke

Deep breath
No need to try
Slow burning, hey, look my eyes, they cry
I smile at Mary she's so, so kind
How I wish to be like her
she glows in the light
I find myself thoughtless and frightened
Im not real?
where's my watch?
Do you know the time dear friend
Hollowed outside-in Im hidden
No truths or closets here.
You are not welcome if I deem
I am sorry for these sins I've
given. Its my burden not yours.
I will fly away now -goodbye
