The Spaceship Poem by Kelsey Gallant

The Spaceship

‘Twas the shiniest spaceship on earth
Twice as wide as a house, with ten times the girth
It bragged “I’m the best of them all
I’ll make it past Pluto, I’ll fly past the stars! ”

It lifted off smoothly and flew
And soared beyond the sky blue
It easily passed all the others in space
And zoomed past all the planets with grace

“Ha ha! ” it shouted out loud
“All you other spaceships are still stuck in the clouds
While I’m the fastest, and farthest, and best
I am so much better than all the rest! ”

The shining spaceship was made of gold
It soared past the galaxies, in and out of black holes
And then quite suddenly, to the carpet it fell
When the boy exclaimed, “Wait, is that PIZZA I smell? ”
