The Speed Limit Poem by Thomas. Watson

The Speed Limit

I was driving down the highway
The highway four-three-o
I wasn't quite sure,
How fast I should go.

The speed sign said one-o-o,
then that must be
how fast I should go!

The next sign said one-two-o
100+120 is 220, you know
Then that must be how fast I should go!

I came to another sign, it said one-four-o
220 +140 is 360, you know.
Then that must be how fast I should go!

Soon I was stopped,
By a tall man in blue,
He gave me a ticket and said
“Now I've got you! ”

I look at the ticket
my wallet won’t last
“Why should I pay this much? ”
“I wasn't going fast! ”
