The Stage Poem by Joseph ...

The Stage

They stood.
Gazing into each others eyes.
Nothing but water and the smoke from his lit cigarette,
which seemed to be gone as quick as it came.
She asked him 'why won't you join me? '
He made no reply and just continued to stare.
The smoke drifted past his face on its way into the atmosphere.
She was beautiful.
The moon's reflection off the water gave the stage wonderful lighting.
She stared into him.
Rising from the water, she kissed him.
Then she spoke 'Why won't you join me? '
She walked past him and vanished into his dreams.
