The Sullivan Brothers Poem by Ima Ryma

The Sullivan Brothers

Pearl Harbor happened, so 'twas war.
The Sullivan brothers did go,
From Iowa to South Seas shore.
George, Al and Frank and Matt and Joe,
Duty called them together to
The U.S.S. Juneau, and smack
Into the deadly bombs that blew
Them up in Japanese attack.
Badly wounded, George did survive.
Death, his four brothers destiny.
Alone, he would not stay alive,
And chose to slip into the sea.

All Sullivan brothers did fall.
'Twas all for one and one for all.
