THE TASTE OF FREEDOM
Not within the clumsy walls of ego
and inhibitions,
not in the dark dungeon of superstitions
where people are scared of their own shadows,
neither in sycophancy and deception,
nor in appeasement and exploitation,
no, never in intolerance, jealousy
and hatred which make us mad,
real taste of freedom lies
in the wonderland of love and compassion
where people move free without fear,
where responsible citizens, humble
yet defiant and honest,
aware of their own specific roles,
be it big or small,
enjoy each moment working together
for the common goal of building up
a more beautiful and better world.
