We salute you, Gurudev.
You are a vast universe.
Each time I visit Puri
and see your old house near the sea,
I fall for you with reverence.
Your poetry of grand eloquence
like the waves of the sea redeems us,
transcends rather
to the realms of unending rapture,
denying narrow confinements
and clumsy inhibited minds,
breaking all barriers,
breaking each shackle that binds.
Is it possible, Gurudev,
to pour down pure poetry,
poetry of intense passion
and transcendence
in this state of chaos and confusion
when millions die in sheer helplessness,
the deadly virus of distrust, hate
and vandalism squeezing us from all sides
and men who really matter dying,
crying for voice?
Bless us, please.
Grant us a little grace
that we may save our world
from being fragmented
and breathe at least in peace.
(A tribute to Rabindranath Tagore, the great poet of Gitanjali Fame/ Nobel Prise in 1913)
Good poem. We need God to have mercy on us. I am sure as long as we obey the science of Covid it will come to pass.
