The Temporary Sojourn Poem by RIC BASTASA

The Temporary Sojourn

you will just pass by here
so there is nothing much
to expect
to take with you in going
there
and it is not definite but
just being somewhere
and so they say
do not expect much as this is
just a temporary sojourn
in this cottage some of which
is nothing
but rotten walls and dilapidated
roof and windows
just something to rest your head
against a black sky
a heavy rain
when the stars are gone.
