The Thought Of Uproar Poem by Jan Oskar Hansen

The Thought Of Uproar

Thoughts of uproar

Rain! So, you don't like it, modern man on holiday,
well, it doesn't wait for your approval, and anyway,
it is good for your hair. "Singing in the Rain"
endless takes, some actors couldn't get it right and
died of pneumonia, forgotten now, all except for
the lead actor has forgotten his name, great dancer
though. I do remember that and the dreadful lyrics
of a popular song back then; so bad it makes me blush
thinking of it; we were so uncritical and polite then
We can now write songs with a great lyric, be critical
of films; only we don't, we still worship bland actors
and singers of trite songs. The well-known students
of 1968, siblings of the elite had a big street party in
Paris and called it a revolution, they are the ones who
run the show now, just as their parents once did
