The Time That God Said, No! Poem by Denis Martindale

The scientist, whose name was Trevor,
Was very, very, very clever!
The Time Machine that he invented
Was very much by God resented,
Despite that man's endeavour!

So God decided on that day
When Trevor thought he'd go away,
To send down angels to that man,
Advising that he changed his plan!
Right now! Without delay!

The Time Machine he took apart,
Even though that broke his heart.
To honour what that man had done,
God blessed him with a wife and son,
Which he'd prayed for from the start…
