The Tongue And Unkind Words Poem by Dr. Antony Theodore

The Tongue And Unkind Words

Rating: 5.0

The boneless
two-inch piece of flesh
our tongue, in our mouth,
can be our best friend
or the worst enemy.

An arrow darted
cannot be retrieved.

So alsoword, once uttered,
cannot be taken back.

Harsh and unkind words
help no one, least of all you.

Amen, Tony! As it goes in the Lord’s prayer, Deliver us from ourselves and the evil one. Related to this poem of yours, I think you’ll like Carl Sandburg’s poem “Primer Lesson.” -Glen
