The Touchable Open Wound Poem by Dr. Antony Theodore

The Touchable Open Wound

At the very beginning,
the Christians defended
themselves against
the accusation that
their Jesus was only
a spirit, or just a ghost.

But has a ghost
a wound? A heart?

The Evangelist John
lovingly paints
the scene.

After the resurrection,
Jesus looks different
and remains in his love.

That is what the wound tells.

The open wound...
The touchable one...
