Opening up my treasure chest
of memories, I alowed myself
to indulge with a memory only
shared between us two
Looking into the scrap book with
all your clippings underlining your
name with red, the aroma of happiness
rushed in
As I looked into the middle I found the
coursage inwhich I wore to our seinor
prom, still crushed but never touched
Finding the memories that bonded us
for the first time, the notes you wrote
and every letter while you were away
Searching for the birthday card inwhich
made me cry, I opended and read each
and every word again, like the first time
Kneeling looking out my window with the sun
shining in my hair, I looked into a mirror
and wondered, would you still see me the
same way
Sitting with a small smile on my face, silly
tears fell into view, my oh my what a sentimental
fool I am today
As I reached the bottom, I had not forgotten
the part that made me remember you the most
Held on it for a moment and then let it go, but
I am happy, happy to have a treasure full of
happiness
This is such a beautiful poem Bonnie so full of feeling so easy to read and so heartfelt and very well written
This brought tears to my eyes and memories flowed back to when my sister had passed away. My parents had a treasure chest made just for her memories. I remember each time I would miss her I would sit and go through it!
Again, I see, you have written this from your heart ma'am, I love when poets put their heart and soul in to their works, This is a very nice poem. I was very moved too... A genuine poem that can touch many hearts. Loves Shan
