The Tree In The Night Poem by Samantha Samis

The Tree In The Night

The tree looms
up in the night,
standing still as stone.
The leaves blow upon
the wind dancing
on it's throne.

The fruits lay
upon it's branches
there for the taking
A branch hangs
on it's side
battered and breaking.

The wind picks up
wild and free,
blowing all around,
until the branch
takes its leave
falling to the
ground.
