The Unbearable Complexity Of Grace Poem by Tracy WatsonBrown

The Unbearable Complexity Of Grace

Rating: 5.0

My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?
Why, when all my life I've sought to follow
Does it feel as if you are behind everything
That causes pain and regret in my life?
My TV tells me several times a day
Just how unhappy I am without stuff,
And I am learning to pay these lies no mind-
Instead first to seek the kingdom of God.
You promised me that all these things would be added
And yet my emptiness seems quite complete.
Just give me a list Lord and I will comply;
Rules to obey, a product that works.
This thing called grace is pulling me apart
I need a formula to mend my heart.
