The Unfolding Evening Sky Poem by Grant House

The Unfolding Evening Sky

Rating: 5.0

Could it be
The space I need
To be myself
Is who I am
The unfolding evening sky
This timeless time called now
The one word question why
Could it be that
I am my dreams
My kindness
The quiet place
Before and after anger
Might it be that
When I breathe
I am the breath
The pause between
Each heartbeat quick or slow
If so
I am safety
I am danger
I am love
The light within
As strange as it may seem
I am the friend
I am the stranger
What if the space I need
To be myself
Is who I am already
Then the freedom I seek
Belongs to me
Divine me
Weightless
Timeless
Empty
Open
Calm and steady
I will meet you
Where you and I
Are one
We are the space we need
To be ourselves
The unfolding evening sky
This timeless time called now
The one word question why
Then dear friend
Together let us say
And so it is
Amen
