The Various Methods of Love


The various methods we have,
In this world are not enough.
Starvation and pestilence abound.
Disease and ethnic hatred astound.

We displease each other.
We're in war with one another.
I don't know how to say it,
If we loved more, could we do it?

The various methods of love,
And care are not working.
We speak of God with a million names.
We bow down to him in a billion ways.

We keep each other down,
In ways that destroy.
Displeasure has grown globally.
The various methods of love are not lovely.

Do we love at all?
