The Wall Poem by Ronald Strickland

The Wall

I climbed over the wall.
A wall that keeps so many within its surroundings,
it came with hopes and dreams
to open a path to their escape.

But within the wall was the creator of the wall,
and it wanted what those within the wall could give.

A part of me remained within the wall
in hopes that I may lay a path for those within
to find their way out and escape.
