The Wave Poem by Manpreet Kaur

The Wave

She was happy and content with way her life was moving,
Finally the mere existence of life was behooving.

Yet sometimes the insane thoughts crawled over her at nights,
It felt she is running in some dark tunnel to find the lights.

Every morning she used to wake up with a fighting spirit,
Sure enough that heat of the day won't be able to sear it.

She was sure, that now the sea is calm,
Was craving herself the destiny lines on her palm.

One day all of a sudden a wave came,
She got all excited and acted like a dame.

The wave brought too much of happiness along,
Her heart was too excited and sounded like a gong.

She was enjoying every moment of it,
Unaware of the coming flit.

How could she forget that the wave which has come will go back too,
Whatever has come in will now be returned in spew.

She felt shattered all over again,
Whom shall she blame now, the heart or the brain.

She was well aware of the fact that this will happen one day,
The castles she made was of sand and not of clay.

And now the castles are gone away with the waves,
She is back to the dark dungeon caves.

She will have to recollect her strength and start it all over one more time,
Will have to remove all the covered slime.

Her heart though still want to see the wave that brought the new meaning to her life,
Though her brain is telling her that such thoughts are rife.

She now has to decide whether to halt with same thoughts or move away from them,
And this thought is making wave feel condemn.

She is happy with the fact that wave did come even if took back what all it brought,
The efforts of the wave were not totally naught.

She is really thankful to the wave for all the moments and memories,
It really helped to heal the heart and all the acts of wave were good remedies.

She would always be in love with the wave,
And assures that this love is going to make her only more brave. :)
