The Wedding At Cana Poem by Theodore Zendarski

The Wedding At Cana

A portent of events that had yet to unfold
All followers invited is what we are told
His mother's request He puts not on hold
The ceremonial water its change we behold

Filled to the brim with nothing held back
Sweetened with goodness, nothing to lack
The best for the last to consummate a pact
His hour not here, there is no turning back

Bridegroom, headwaiter and servers are there
But of the bride, there is mention nowhere
Or could that omission be to make us aware
That the bride of Christ will soon be in our care
