The Wedding Day Poem by GUY MAGGIO

The Wedding Day

I knew of a Women that lived long ago, she was pretty and smart as anyone knows. She went with a fellow for 30 years as she would never marry until her Mother goes. So the day came when Mom did go, she is now about 6 feet under, she is in her resting place. One day the bride to be was pressing her wedding dress and dropped the heavy iron on her toe, breaking it and had to postpone the wedding. She was so sad that she died a week later with a broken heart. The old man waited so long that he took his last breath and died of shock. He waited 30 years for that cake that will never come to be.
