The Well Poem by David Burton Richardson

The Well

Deep down in hollow, echo Well
Deep down, deep down, deep down
Slime of ages, slithering Stone
Falling down, falling down, falling down
Olive Leaves and solitude
The dusky musky scent of air so Black
Heavy with the dusty husky voice of past
The Hands of time small yet vast
Are falling down, falling down, falling down
The ripened echo, that bitter frown
Is falling down, falling down, falling down
The rounded light of Sunshine Birds
And beams of heat that looks like Crown
Fade away and cannot be heard
As we fall deeper
Deep down, deep down, deep down.
