The White-Breasted Waterhen/ The Brown Jackals/ Aparajita/ Jonha Falls

The White-breasted Waterhen

When I see it stalking,
Crying and calling from
The bamboo thickets
By the water pond
At eve and dawn,
My joy knows no bounds
To see the wild bird
Of the country, the marshy plot.

The Brown Jackals

The grey jackals
They often howl
At eve or during the night
At solitary and secluded places
Not now in the woods,
But near the garbage heaps
Coming closer to human habitats.

Aparajita

The bell-shaped
Dreamy blue blooms
Or just like the butterfly
So bluish and fanciful
Catching our imagination.

Jonha Falls

How do the waters fall
From a height,
Have you heard the music
Of the stream falling,
The water murmuring
Musically
In the landscape
Of the plateau
And the forest?

Call it Dassam Falls
Or Gautamdhara,
But the cascading beauty
Is natural and scenic,
So panoramic and landscapic!
