The Windows Of Life With The Pandemic Poem by Mai Murphy Venn

The Windows Of Life With The Pandemic

Rating: 5.0

I look out the window, but what do I hear? silence.
I look for a while but what do I see? social distancing.
Seclusion is a new way of life that we do not understand.
The children feel trapped in their homes without friends.
Our elderly folks are cocooning and feeling it hard.
Looking out windows glass, as they wave to their clan.
Our window has converted into a cinema that's vital to us.
While we gaze in astonishment as life goes on, day by day.
In the fear of what is ahead, we are turning to God.
Now we switch on our television and we pray with the priest.
We partake in the daily mass in the comfort of our living room.
There is a peace that encircles us at this extraordinary time.
Our fear is substituted with something wonderful that has no name.
Down this road we are traveling, it is the road of contemporary life.
Our journey is new, our transport is time, not wheels.
Our map is not of our crafting, but we will be guided by the shepherd.
For we are not lost but we have strayed from the flock.
We are in the wilderness of wondering of what is instore.
Will we change at the end of the journey as we have learned how to be adapted?
The answers will come from many scholars, but which one is the right one.
In each window, there is a face looking out, wondering what tomorrow will bring.
Is there some light at the end of the tunnel that will shine on us once more?
Well let us hope there is
