The Woman In Me Poem by huntress foryou

The Woman In Me

Can it be?
I heard you laughing,
my smile grew as I watched you.
I lowered my eyes and I tried to
breath- to settle, to retrieve
decorum.
I spoke earnestly and you listened
intently!
A thoughtful smile on your lips.
Again I lower my eyes and with
free will my smile grows.
I have no control.
How can I speak to you, yet study the
contours of your face?
How can I hope to listen well, as I
watch your mouth structuring sentences.
The timber of your voice-
soft and strong- together.
I heard you laugh and I lower
my eyes.
Can it be...after such a long
empty time....
I feel like a woman.
The woman that's me! ! !
