The Wonder In The Tree Poem by Nicholas Harrison

The Wonder In The Tree

That isn't a bird,
Now don't be absurd.
What then? You ask.
To me it looks more like a mask.
But then, it could be a bag.
Or just a zig-zag.
It's an ugly green,
But looks pristine.
And as I burp,
It makes a chirp.
You look at me a silly way,
and continue to say,
Now don't be absurd,
That's certainly a bird.
