The Words Seem Pointless Now Poem by L.J. Miller

The words seem really pointless now
As they come back to me
And I can see how
You can make me into the enemy
I could have asked you to stay
But that means
I'd of had to look your way
And that's not as easy as it seems
I could have ran and kissed you
And taken your keys
I could have screamed 'I'll miss you! '
And gotten down on my hands and knees
I could have said: 'I love you.'
But we both know
It wouldn't be true
And you would still go
Now when my friends ask me:
'How could you let him walk away? '
I say: 'That's easy,
I didn't want him to stay.'
