Once upon a time
There was a
Little girl
And all the
Trust in her world
Was placed in him
But as she grew
She found something she
Wished she never knew
And the man who
She trusted
Who she used to hold dear
Was torn away
By the parents fear
And nothing she said
Could make him stay
And slowly but surely
That trust melted away
As much as she wanted
To love him
And trust him
She couldn’t
And as she grew older,
Their relationship
Grew colder
Until it was
So old
And so cold
That the ice between them
Could never be broken
And so much was left
Unspoken
And the girl came
To find
That
All in all
She wasn’t leaving
Anything behind.
But he never knew
That as she grew
He meant
The world
To her.
