The You I Knew Poem by Regena Henderson

The You I Knew

I think back, to when we first met,
I wanted you, but couldnt have you yet.
Your charming ways, your boyish grin.
I wondered how long, before Id see you again.
The day came, as did many others,
the long talks we had, showed we cared for each other.
For you I had passion in my soul,
You were so hott, and hard to hold.
Once I had tasted you, Ive never been the same,
You set me on fire, I went up in flames.
Suddenly you were gone, outta my reach,
I had a lesson to learn, that you were to teach.
Teach me you did, as you left me alone
broken. and busted, just sittin home.
